Milan, MI

Age 79, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022 at St. Joseph Hospital in Superior Township, MI. He was born October 31, 1942 in Ypsilanti, MI, the son of Cecil and Rena (Simpson) Lovelace.

William married Katherine Meggison December 23, 1964 in Dexter, MI, and she survives. He retired from the Rawsonville Ford plant in 2002. William was a huge University of Michigan fan and loved the Detroit Tigers and Lions as well. He enjoyed coaching both youth bowling and Ypsilanti National Little League Baseball. Walleye fishing was a beloved pastime.

In addition to his wife, William is survived by his children Rachele (Robert) Frausto, Renae (Bob) Wilson and Ryan (Sarah) Lovelace; grandchildren Jennifer (Jeremy) Laurell, Roberto (Stacey) Frausto, Grace Lovelace and Alexis Lovelace; great-grandchildren Briley, Dylan and Bryce; siblings Jo Anne (Jim) Haynes and John Lovelace; several nieces and nephews, and fishing buddy Jim Burton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Vera, twin sister Barbara, mother-in-law Edith and father-in-law Arthur.

Visitation will be held 4-8 pm Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Stark Funeral Professionals (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti). A funeral service will take place 11 am Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at South Side Baptist Tabernacle (6710 Textile Road, Ypsilanti) where the family will receive friends 10 am until time of service. William will be laid to rest at Washtenong Memorial Park in Ann Arbor.
