William "Bill" Kenneth Long II was called to join his Creator and God on the evening of Monday, November 6, 2023.

Bill was born into a working-class family, the youngest of four and the only son, to Kenneth and Darlene (nee Wilson) Long in November of 1948. He was raised outside of Milan, Michigan where he graduated high school in the class of 1966.

In 1969 Bill married the love of his life, Susan (nee Burgar). Throughout their 54 years married, they endured hardships and joys, raising two children. Bill worked for 30 years as a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Joiners, and Millwrights, before retiring from that career and joining the United Auto Workers and Ford Motor Company, where he worked for another 20 years.

Bill was a devout man of steadfast faith. He made the decision to follow Christ in 1974 and served his Lord through deacon boards, being a leader and mentor to the youth in the church, and from 2004 until 2015 – when his health no longer allowed – served and loved the homeless population in the Ann Arbor area. His servant's heart and abundant love was felt by all who knew him.

Bill loved fast cars, fast motorcycles, working with his hands, his family, and his God, and many other hobbies and interests, not necessarily in that order.

Bill is survived by Susan, his daughter Valerie and her partner Tim Stone, his son Daniel and his wife Megan, a granddaughter, Ainsley, and grandson, PJ – both of whom he called "his joy" – and his eldest sister, Joanne Heath. In the afterlife, he joins his mother and father, as well as his sisters Judy Hanley and Joyce Fauser, and brother-in-law Ted Heath.  Bill did not want a funeral, but a visitation will take place 3-8pm Friday, November 10, 2023 at Stark Funeral Professionals, 101 S. Washington St. Ypsilanti.
