William "Bill" Daniel MacLeod, 77, of Ypsilanti, passed away on September 26, 2025, at Trinity Health Hospital in Ann Arbor.

Born on June 5, 1947, to William and Mary "Betty" (Sharrow) MacLeod, Bill spent most of his life in the Ypsilanti area. He was the co-owner of MacLeod 76 Truckstop and long-time employee of Carter Lumber, where he worked for many years and developed strong ties within the local business community.

Bill proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Forrestal. He was a longtime member of the Ypsilanti Optimist Club and enjoyed spending time with friends at the Full House restaurant. In his free time, he liked golfing and was a loyal fan of the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions.

He is survived by his brother, David MacLeod, and his nephew, Aaron (Jennifer) MacLeod. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Janet Kay MacLeod.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
