Vivian Litchard, age 101, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025.  Born in 1923 in Belleville, Michigan, she lived through more than a century of change with grace, strength, and humor.

Vivian graduated from Belleville High School in 1941 and started working at the historic Willow Run Bomber Plant in January 1942.  During World War II, she proudly served as a Rosie the Riveter, contributing to the war effort and paving the way for future generations of strong, independent women.

On January 25, 1947, Vivian married Lyle Litchard.  Vivian and Lyle had a passion for travel that took them throughout the world.

As a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, family was the heart of her world. She cherished time spent with loved ones, filling their lives with warmth, wisdom, and laughter. She had a knack for finding the perfect gift and a love for shopping that never faded, always bringing home treasures and memories to share.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle; her son, Lyle Jr.; and her great-granddaughter, Hannah Perry. Although she endured profound loss, she remained a beacon of strength and love for those who survived her.  She leaves behind daughters Jacquelyn (Jeffrey) Stabnau, Ann Arbor, MI and Sharon (Clyde) Collins, Loudon, TN; grandchildren: Aimee Taylor-Uram, Renée Whitley, Dawn Perry, Alan Perry, Teya Litchard, and Samantha Litchard; eight great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts.

Her life was a testament to resilience, adventure, and the unbreakable bonds of family. She will be remembered for her beauty and kindness to others.

A celebration of her life has taken place followed by a graveside service at Arborcrest Cemetery, Ann Arbor, MI.
