Stephenson, Virginia Christine

Ypsilanti, MI

Age 95, passed away Monday, May 27, 2024 at her home. She was born March 10, 1929, the daughter of Herbert and Sarah (Lauderdale) Wiley.

Virginia was an avid reader and enjoyed making plastic canvas objects such as crosses and tissue boxes. She taught Sunday School at Ypsilanti Assembly of God for 50 years.

Virginia is survived by her son Wayne Stephenson, brothers Herman (Cicel) Wiley and Jerry (the late Mary) Wiley; sister Catherine (the late Billy) Gray, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Stephen Stephenson, daughter Susan Anderson, two brothers and one sister.

The family will receive friends at Stark Funeral Professionals 4-8 pm Friday, May 31, 2024 (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti). A funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Ypsilanti Assembly of God with visitation starting at 10 am (701 Holmes Road, Ypsilanti). Virginia will be laid to rest in Washtenong Memorial Park at 2 pm Saturday (3771 Whitmore Lake Road, Ann Arbor).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ypsilanti Assembly of God .
