Virginia Spiller was born on August 29, 1954 in Chattanooga, TN to Marian Rutledge and James Hampton. She went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 13. Virginia graduated from Howard High School in 1972. She moved to Michigan after her daughter graduated from High school in 1989 and has since called it home. She later married Jerry Spiller October 21, 2003. Virginia joined Metropolitan Memorial Baptist Church under Rev. S.L. Roberson. She enjoyed visits and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed watching Law & Order: SVU , court shows and Family Feud .

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Marian Overall, James Hampton and bother Charles Long.

She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted husband Jerry Spiller; daughter Terri ( Daniel) Justice, Georgia and son Larry( Keynosha ) Smith, D.C.; brothers-in-law; Lewis, Charles, Frank, Roy and Roger; sisters-in-law, Paula and Shirley; grandchildren; Michael, Brandie, Larry III, David, Marquise, Ashley, Marquez, Leila, and Jarrius; great-grandchildren, Rowan, Nadia, Zaila, Lil Chris, JaCory, Jamari and Kysen; First cousins Haniyyah Abdul-Aziz and Rosemary Hunter Armour; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; also dear friends Jackie (Michigan), Renee & Sylvia of Chattanooga and Tina (Michigan).

A funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Metropolitan Memorial Baptist (431 Hawkins St., Ypsilanti, MI 48197). Visitation will begin at 10 am. Virginia will be laid to rest in Marble Park Cemetery, Milan.
