Patton, Virgil "Gary"

Ypsilanti, MI

Age 73, passed away Monday, February 13, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 14, 1949, in Martin, Kentucky, the son of Virgil and Lilly (Craft) Patton. On December 18, 1968, he married Margie (Cunningham) and they shared 54 loving years together.

Gary is survived by his loving wife Margie, daughter Jannie (Shawn) Terry, three grandsons Robert Patton, Kyle Patton, and Daniel Terry; brother Nick (Becky) Patton, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and many more family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Chris Patton, and brother Johnny Patton.

A retired employee, Gary worked at GM at the Willow Run Plant in Ypsilanti for 32 years. After retiring from GM, Gary worked at Green Oaks Golf and loved to golf. He had a great love of Kentucky Basketball as well.

The viewing will be on Friday, February 17, 2023 from 4-8 pm and the funeral will be Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 11 am, both at Stark Funeral Professionals in Ypsilanti. Pastor Doug Valentine will officiate. Gary will be laid to rest at Marble Park Cemetery in Milan, Michigan, beside his son Chris.
