Victor Schwartzenberger passed away December 23, 2024 at the age of 90. He was born April 2, 1934 in Napoleon, North Dakota, to his parents, Thomas and Helen (Betsch) Schwartzenberger. He was one of eight children. As a young child, Victor's family moved to Michigan to take advantage of the employment opportunities in the automotive industry.

As an adult, he worked for Ford Motor Company and was a UAW member for 30 years, retiring in 1995. From there, he went on to relish in the things he loved most in life.

In his free time, Victor enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing a round or two at Green Oaks Golf Course. Traveling to North Dakota for duck and pheasant hunting was a much-anticipated adventure. Playing baseball and basketball was also a treasured pastime.

Victor was a devout Catholic. At different times in his life, he was a parishioner of St. Alexis, St. John, St. Ursula and St. Joseph churches.

Victor is survived by his wife Gladys, children Edward (Sue) and Vic Jr. (Heather); grandchildren Tina, Kelly, Pam, Ricky, Scott, Maria, Eric and Danielle; as well as several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, all of his siblings, daughter Wanda, son-in-law Rick and granddaughter Kristie.

A funeral service will be held 1 pm Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Stark Funeral Professionals (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti). Viewing will begin at 11 am.
