Vickie Denise Napier, age 64, passed away at her home on March 15, 2026. She was born on March 10, 1964, in Sheffield, Alabama to Johnnie Wilson and Margaret Jane Napier.

Vickie was someone who found comfort in the everyday things she enjoyed. She liked playing working crossword puzzles and word searches, and watching Lifetime movies. She especially loved the color purple. She enjoyed cooking, particularly chicken, and had an easy way of making people laugh and feel comfortable around her.

Family was an important part of her life. She is survived by her spouse, Leonard Thornton, and her children, Shermaine, Marcus, Margaret, Victoria, and L.J. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren: Sheirmoni, Shah'Liah, Amireyia, Shermaine Jr., Shamar, Stacia, Dalontae, Isreal, Shermantay, Tayana, Shemere, Lewis Jr., JaQobi, and Vanese.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Jane Napier and Johnnie Wilson.
