Velma F. Roe gone November 26, 2025, to meet the sailor boy who came to Elliottville (Hogtown), Kentucky, looking for a pretty girl. And guess what? He found her. Glen O. Roe and Velma F. (Porter) Roe married on August 23, 1946. They were happily married until Glen's passing on August 1, 1985. From that union came their five wonderful children: Glenna L. (Danny) Perkins, James N. (Alice) Roe, Richard L. (Karen) Roe, John P. (Tina) Roe, and Joan A. (Michael) White. Velma left behind 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Velma was born in Morehead, Kentucky on May 5, 1928, and later moved to Ypsilanti, Michigan where she raised her children and retired from University Microfilms. Velma Roe lived to the wonderful age of 97.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 1, 2025 at 1 pm at Stark Funeral Professionals in Ypsilanti with visitation preceding from 11 am to 1 pm.
