Tiffany Marie (Gatewood) Hinson was born on May 5, 1982, in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Kenneth and Marilyn (Mullen) Gatewood. She passed away on February 14, 2025 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, after fighting a long and courageous battle against cancer.

She became a Christian on August 6, 1995 and was a faithful member of the Ypsilanti Church of Christ. She would often volunteer and help with the Food Gatherers distribution and looked forward to opportunities to participate in other events such as the turkey giveaway and winter coats for kids' activities.

Tiffany attended Willow Run High School, where she loved playing her clarinet in marching band, and later attended the University of Michigan. She worked at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital as a transporter and enjoyed the time she worked there. She would often share stories about the patients she encountered and how they would provide amusement and entertainment from time to time.

Tiffany was an avid fan of the University of Michigan football team. She loved football and would cheer for the team at home as if she were in the stadium. She loved listening to music and would often comment about how she knew every song from the 70's, thanks to her mother forcing her to listen to it, while traveling to and from school as a child and even as an adult. She also developed a knack for cooking and would often prepare awesome dishes that she found recipes for.

Aunt Tippy, as she was affectionately known by her nieces and nephews, was the best aunt, protector, provider, and confidant anyone could hope for. Her nieces Taryn and Aliyah Gatewood, nephews Maurice and MaKhari Smith-Gatewood, and great-nephew ZyAire Brown, will surely miss their aunt and all the love she showered them with.

Left to cherish Tiffany's memory are her loving life partner and fiancé, Ryan Palmer, mother and father, Kenneth and Marilyn Gatewood, sisters Tamara and Kendall Gatewood, her loving nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends including a special friend, Lindsey Wilder.
