Thomas Cunningham passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at the age of 76.

Tom was a life-long resident of Ypsilanti, Michigan. He was a hard worker and dedicated 30 years to being a machine repairman at GM before retiring in 2008.

Tom's work ethic followed him even outside of work. There was never an idol moment, he always kept busy. Driving the tractor and cleaning up the yard, there was always something to do. He really enjoyed spending time with his son, Mike out in the garage rebuilding Mustangs. One of his proudest accomplishments was the Nova he and Mike had worked so hard on together.

After retirement, you could find Tom out on the golf course at least three times per week. He could still be found working in the garage and spending time outside.

The biggest joy in his life were his grandchildren. He was so proud of them and had them around every chance he could. He never missed any event and was always there to cheer them on during football and soccer games.

Tom was a very independent man who relied on nobody, but was the first one to be there to give you a hand whenever you needed him. His kindness and sense of humor will be missed by all the loved ones he leaves behind. The lessons and love he gave throughout his life will always live on in those whose lives he had touched.

Tom was a dedicated father of Mike (Stephanie) Cunningham and Cindy (Marty) Cornett; proud grandfather of Tommy and Andrew Cunningham and Shelby (Joey) Hinrichs; and adoring great-grandpa to Blair Hinrichs. He was the dear brother of John and the late Jim and late Carolyn. He is also survived by many other loving family members and friends.

There will be a 6 pm Celebration of Life held on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Stark Funeral Professionals with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 4 pm.
