Boersma, Thomas Edward

Belleville, MI

Age 74, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at his home. He was born June 20, 1949 in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI, the son of Gilbert and Eleanor (Reid) Boersma.

Tom had a successful career as a technical writer, working at Albert Kahn Associates and Peter Bassa Associates prior to his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the North Macomb Sportsmen's Club. In his free time, he enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting, fishing, archery, trap and skeet. Tom participated in the Port Huron to Mackinac sailboat race three times and loved taking his 1987 Fiero GT to car shows. Above all, he treasured spending time with his family and friends, and absolutely adored his grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cynthia Ann Boersma; daughters Jennifer (David) Baibak and Heather Tousignant; son Thomas E.L. (Stephanie) Boersma, grandsons William Tousignant and Parker Tousignant; granddaughters Megan Baibak and Audrey Boersma; sister-in-law Karen Walter and former spouse Glee Boersma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Eleanor Boersma.

A Celebration of Tom's Life will be held at North Macomb Sportsmen's Club in summer 2024.
