Hogan, Terry Alvin

Ypsilanti, MI

Age 66, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, December 25, 2022. He was born September 22, 1956 in Ypsilanti, MI, the son of Melvin and Bonnie (Clark) Hogan.

Terry enjoyed a long, successful career as a farmer. He was a diehard NASCAR fan that loved hosting race day parties for friends and family and never missed an opportunity to build a fire. "Farmer Terry", as he was fondly known, was a true animal lover with a distinct whistle that they all knew. He will be remembered for his quick wit, ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, contagious laughter and occasionally inappropriate jokes. His weather forecast and invaluable knowledge of the history in everything around him will be deeply missed by all who knew him. An avid collector of what some would call junk, Terry lovingly referred to as antiques.

Terry is survived by his daughters Alecia (Harold) Powell and Amanda (Eric) Eastman; mother Bonnie Hogan, siblings Jerome (Kim) Hogan, Diane (Mike) Dufek, Sue (Ken) Campbell and Larry Hogan; grandchildren Kaelie, Avery, Brayden and Bentley; great-granddaughter Sloane; nephew Brent (Shannon) Hogan and niece Michelle (Alex) Englund.

He was preceded in death by his father Melvin Hogan and dear friends Ernest and Jean Karnatz.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration for the beloved "Farmer Terry" will be held Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Pittsfield Union Grange Hall (3337 Ann Arbor-Saline Road, Ann Arbor). Visitation is at noon with a remembrance ceremony at 1 pm. We will be watching the Daytona 500 "Farmer Terry" style beginning at 2:30 pm. The celebration will run until 7 pm.

Please remember "Farmer Terry" by having a coffee with a friend, executing a heartfelt prank in his honor or adding additional tomato plants to your garden in the spring.
