Tedros Desta, 56, went home to be with the Lord after passing suddenly on February 14, 2026. He was born on June 21, 1969, in Eritrea. Tedros later made his home in Ypsilanti, where he built a life centered on family, faith, and meaningful work.

In 2009, he married his beloved wife, Munna, in a church ceremony in Virginia. Family was his highest priority. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children, Lidya, Abel, and Nathan  —watching them compete in sports, supporting their academic achievements, and being present for the everyday moments that mattered most.

Tedros worked as a Data Architect at University of Michigan Medicine for more than 20 years. He was known for his strong work ethic, technical expertise, and commitment to continual learning. He took pride in his career in information technology and consistently sought to expand his knowledge and skills.

Tedros also enjoyed spending time at Starbucks, where he would read, study, and continue building his technical knowledge. He valued time spent with members of his community, often gathering over coffee and conversation.

A funeral service will be held 1 pm Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Stark Funeral Professionals with visitation at 11 am until time of service. Tedros will be laid to rest in Highland Cemetery.

He will be remembered as a devoted brother, uncle, husband, and father; a dedicated professional, and a thoughtful member of his community.
