Teabe Tewolde Habtemariam, age 79, went home to be with the Lord on June 1, 2026. She was born on January 9, 1947, in Afdeyu, Eritrea, to Tewolde and Hiwan.

Teabe was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her family. She lived in Asmara, Eritrea, before making her home in Washington and later Michigan. A faithful member of the Orthodox Church, she found great joy in her faith and community.

Teabe enjoyed cooking, cleaning, sharing stories with family and friends, and participating in coffee ceremonies. Her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Teabe was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gebremeskel Berhane; mother, Hiwan Kahsay; son, Samson Gebremeskel; daughter, Genet Gebremeskel; and grandchild, Luna Alem.

She is survived by her children, Abraham, Solomon, Munna, and Elsa; her grandchildren, Naham, Thomas, Dina, Lidya, Abel, Nathan, Samson, Raymoq, and Meron; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

Visitation will be held 11 am–1 pm Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Stark Funeral Professionals. A funeral service will follow at 1 pm, officiated by Firesbhat Workneh, Isaak. Following the service, Teabe will be laid to rest in Eritrea.

Though she has departed from this earthly life, her legacy of faith, love, and devotion to family will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind. May her memory be eternal.
