Steven Wayne Forester, 72, of Dear­born, MI, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025. Steve was born March 3, 1953 in Pontiac, MI, the oldest son of Frances Wimsett Forester and George Wayne Forester, Jr. Raised in Birmingham, he was a lover of sports and a voracious reader from an early age. He spent many childhood summers at his favorite place, the family cottage in Caseville, MI, getting into trouble with his four younger brothers and one younger sister.

After graduating from Seaholm High School in 1971, Steve went on to have many years of college education, earning a Bachelor of Science in English and another in Information Systems from Eastern Michigan University as well as an MBA in Business from Wayne State University. Steve did not just attend Seaholm High School but was active until his death, like his father George, in the school's softball program.

Steve married his sweetheart Kathy Nunez-Forester on September 24, 1988 at St. John Neuman Church. Happily married for 37 years, their mutual love of sports and books were passed on to their two children, Mackenzie (Glen Morrison), born in 1990, and Jack, born in 1993. Both children were tirelessly coached by Steve in all manner of sports - soccer, baseball, and basketball - throughout their childhood. Many happy weekends were spent playing at the parks and football and soccer fields located behind their family home. Steve and Kathy loved spending time at the family cottage in Caseville, enjoying the beach and peaceful atmosphere with their children. They spent many family vacations there throughout the years.

Preceding Steve in death are his parents, Frances and George. He is survived by siblings Greg (Lisa Boynton) of Metamora, Randy (Rochelle Rosenthal) of Birmingham, Thom (Lauretta Gambino) of Bellaire, Nancy of Portage, and John (Elaine Staley) of Oak Park. Coming from such a large family, Steve and his siblings often regaled family and friends with stories of their childhood exploits in Birmingham and Caseville. All of the Foresters are storytellers with impeccable timing and wit, Steve especially.

Steve will be most missed by his wife and children. He was very pleased to meet his oldest grandchild, Cadence Morrison, in February of 2025 and was lucky enough to spend his last weekend with her.
