Shirley Womack, devoted daughter, wife and mother was born on January 20, 1943 in Alamo, Georgia, the daughter of Walter Robinson and Nora (Coney) Robinson, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. Her life was defined by her love of God, her family, and service to her church, and in all she was steadfast.

Shirley's family moved to Albion Michigan when she was a young child, and she participated in activities both in school and church. She had a lovely voice and sang in the choirs of both her high school and church. The devotion to church that she learned as a child continued throughout her life.

Those same attributes continued throughout her personal and professional life, and upon graduation from Albion High School in 1962, she began work with a local Albion bank. Her administrative background led to long term employment with the State of Michigan and The University of Michigan from which she retired more than 20 years later.

She married Curtis Womack on July 29, 1966.  Their 39-year marriage was one of both happiness and commitment to one another. Shirley was the loving mother of three children, son Marc (Jennifer) Womack of Prosper, Texas, daughter, Andrea (Shannon) Womack-Johnson of Allen, Texas and step-daughter Christy Casey of Lansing, Illinois.

During their marriage, Shirley continued her love of church by being an active member of Saint City Church of God in Christ in Romulus, Michigan, where she served in the choir and on the Usher's Board, and later as a faithful member of the Mother's Board at Burning Bush International Ministries in Westland, Michigan. She was loved by her church family and friends and despite her move to Texas, remained on their minds reaching out often to express their well wishes.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Curtis Womack, father, Walter Robinson, mother, Nora (Coney) Robinson and caring grandmother Lovenia Coats (Davis) Coney. She was the loving grandmother to 7 grandchildren, Trenton (Kelly) Smiley, Turner (Kylee) Smiley, Chloe Womack, Angelina Johnson, Sydney Johnson, Savannah Johnson, Quentin Ware and great-grandson Tafton Smiley. She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, church family members and friends. She was loved by all and will be deeply missed.
