We are joyful in hope and patient in the midst of our affliction in the relocation of Samuel Jedidiah Squires from earth to heaven on April 26, 2024 at the age of 39. Sam was returning from sharing the love of God in Detroit when he passed away. Sam's daily life to follow the leading of God's Holy Spirit in praying for people wherever God led. Countless people's lives were changed by Jesus throughout Southeastern Michigan and many other parts of the United States. We are looking forward to joining Sam in worshiping God with all our might when we see him in his new heavenly mansion.

Samuel was born March 3, 1985 in Ann Arbor, MI, the son of Robert and Ruth (Dery) Squires. He was a devoted evangelist and loved sharing the Lord's word with others. He was also an accomplished artist who attended Adrian College on an art scholarship. Samuel was a skilled carpenter who would donate his time to help repair the homes of those in need. He helped people with prayer, food donation and the literal shirt off of his back. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Samuel is survived by his children Kaleigh Edwards, Nathan Edwards, Aubrey Edwards, Christian Squires and Ally Squires; his parents Ruth Evon Squires (John Poniatowski) and Robert Squires; siblings Caleb Squires, Jordan (Gwen) Squires and Darcy (Peter) Dornbos; nieces and nephew Elyse, Evelyn and Oliver; in addition to many loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister, baby Sandra.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Ypsilanti Assembly of God with visitation beginning at 10 am. Pastor Jesse Yoder will officiate. The family will receive friends 4-8 pm Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Stark Funeral Professionals, Ypsilanti. Samuel will be laid to rest in Marble Park Cemetery, Milan.
