Age 93, passed away peacefully Monday, December 9, 2024 at Forest View Assisted Living.

Ruth was born January 6, 1931, in White Lake, SD, the daughter of John and Mary Olson.

On November 25, 1950, she married Leroy Carleton Parks, who passed away May 19, 2021.

Ruth was a dedicated Navy wife who traveled across the world with her husband and children when he was deployed. She was the civilian Manager of the Navy Exchange at Grosse Ile Naval Air Station until the base was closed in 1971. Ruth loved ballroom dancing, and theater. She was active in the Islanders Theater Group and the Grosse Ile Presbyterian church.

Ruth is survived by her two daughters Larah Marie (Steven) Henderson and Kendra Rae (Kyle) Alexander; daughter-in-law Peggy Parks; grandchildren Samantha, Carl "Cj", Matthew, Christopher, and Katrina; eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her Husband Leroy Parks, son Carleton Lee Parks, daughter Tricia Rena Whitfield, and grandson Nathan Dale Henderson.

The family has selected a simple cremation with burial of her ashes alongside her husband in a national cemetery in the near future.
