Ruth Hunt Blevins, age 92, of Belleville, MI, went to be with the Lord on June 19, 2025. She was born on June 5, 1933 in Pikeville, KY, the daughter of Pastor Kenis and Florence (Rowe) Hunt, the eighth of 13 children. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents.

Ruth moved to Ypsilanti, MI with her husband Kermit Overbee. She worked at Ford Motor Company until she retired. She was preceded in death by her dear husband Kermit Overbee and precious son David Overbee.

Ruth later married John K. Blevins of Ypsilanti, and then moved to Belleville. After celebrating 50 years of marriage, she was preceded in death by her much-loved husband, John.

Ruth was a member of Metro Baptist Church of Belleville. She loved the church and her church family. Ruth had many roles and talents; a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, a caring sister to 12 siblings, and a favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Her passions included caring for her family, crafting, baking, cooking, and visiting garage sales. When Ruth wasn't crafting, she was planning her meals and baked goods from her many "cookbooks." Christmas was like a bakery at Ruth's house with cakes, candies, cookies and breads... so many choices.

Ruth had a great sense of humor, always keeping her family and friends laughing. She was free-hearted. Her unconditional love and generosity extended beyond her family. If someone was in need, Ruth made a special effort to provide their need.

There is a wide network of family and friends that loved Ruth; a special lady, no doubt. Those that knew Ruth will have many cherished memories to last a lifetime.

Ruth is survived by her beloved daughters Denise (Craig) Tomkiewicz of Milan, MI, and Debbie (Blevins) Cahill of Ypsilanti; daughter-in-law Linda Overbee of Ypsilanti; grandchildren Jason (Dayana) Overbee, Eric Overbee, Rachel Burgess, Jill Cahill, John (Melissa) Cahill, Brandon Tomkiewicz and Katie Tomkiewicz; great-grandchildren Juliana Overbee, Levi Overbee, Shane Overbee, Braylen Cahill, Darien Thomason, Braxton Cahill, Clara Cahill, Joey Russo, Kaitly Vollick, Owen Vollick and Sophia Vollick; sister Phyllis Hogston; brothers Wendell Lee (Betty) Hunt and Dale (Doris) Hunt; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Fayetta, Arizona, Sylvia and Shirley; and brothers Dennis, Denver, Kenis Jr., Orville and Paul Hunt.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Stark Funeral Professionals with visitation beginning at 10 am. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 4-8 pm Tuesday, June 24, 2025. Ruth will be laid to rest in Highland Cemetery.
