Romona passed away to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at the age of 51. She was born on Tuesday, March 9, 1971, at Beyer's Hospital in Ypsilanti, MI, the daughter of Adline (Swanson) Tiggs and James Tiggs.

As a young girl, Romona grew up in Ypsilanti, MI along with her twin and two younger sisters. Romona attended Willow Run Public Schools and later completed her associate degree as a CNA at Washtenaw Community College. She later relocated to Charleston, SC with her children in 2012 to be with her twin sister. In 2020, Romona moved back to Michigan to take over her parents' home due to the tragic passing of her mother.

Romona worked as an assembly worker with CER. She was employed there for several years. Her church home was the Tree of Life Ministries in South Carolina. Romona loved to sing, dance, and spend quality time with her family.

Romona was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt and she will be deeply missed.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Her loving daughters, Monae, Iyana, and her loving son James; her three beautiful siblings Romina (Twin Sister), Yolanda, and Demetria; her four adorable grandchildren Janae, Jaiden, Makai, and Mikhail; as well as her special niece/daughter Nadia, special nephews Alontae and Djuan; 11 nieces and nephews; nine great nieces and nephews; and her best friend/sister Deanne Freeman/Davis, along with, Grandmother Nineveh Tiggs, her four uncles, Oliver Jr., Ozzie, Jefferey, and Dwhite; her four aunts Almeda, Marina, Mary, and Hazel; and a host of loving relatives and friends.

Romona was preceded in death by her parents, James E. Tiggs and Adline Tiggs; uncle Oliver Mims, paternal grandpa James D. Tiggs, uncle Ronald Tiggs, and nephew Alexander Gray III.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Stark Funeral Professionals with Pastor Jeffery Tiggs officiating.
