Robert Lee Heffelbower, a lifelong resident of Michigan, passed away at the age of 87 Monday, December 5, 2022 at American House in Jenison, MI. Robert was born December 8, 1934 in Milford, MI. He was the youngest of eight children of Melvin and Luella (Chase) Heffelbower.

Lee served in Alaska for the U.S. Army for two years from October 1955 – October 1957. He moved to Ypsilanti in 1965 where he worked for Ford Motor Company for 34 years, retiring in December, 1988.

On November 22, 1958, Lee married Vera Ruth (Benn) Heffelbower and together they raised their son, Ronald Lee Heffelbower. They were married for 46 years until Vera went to be with the Lord January 2004.

On July 8, 2005, Lee married Dorothy Ann "Dottie" Heffelbower. They were married for 14 years until the Lord called Dottie home March 2019.

Lee is survived by his only son Ronald Lee Heffelbower (fiancée Katie Bowler), five grandchildren: Robert Karow, James (Stormy) Heffelbower, Matthew George, Marissa George and Kadin Oberdorf; several great-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am Friday, December 9, 2022 at Stark Funeral Professionals with Reverend Bob Ray officiating. Family and friends may gather at 10 am until time of service. Internment immediately following in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton Township, MI.
