Cymes, Robert Danny

Ypsilanti, MI (Formerly of Belleville, MI)

Age 68, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022 in Ypsilanti Township, MI. He was born November 3, 1953 in Superior Township, MI, the son of Joseph and Mary (Santy) Cymes.

Robert took great pride in a well-manicured lawn. He enjoyed camping, fishing, orchestrating fireworks displays and was a talented small engine repairman. A musician at heart, Robert liked to sing, write music and even taught himself how to play guitar. He was a member of the band at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Ypsilanti. He loved to be with people and always enjoyed a good karaoke party. Robert always looked forward to Halloween, when he could decorate the house and scare trick-or-treaters.

Robert is survived by Onda Cymes, his loving wife of 48 years, children Stasia Cymes and Courtney Cymes; and grandson River Rose.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Richard Cymes and John Cymes.

A memorial service will be held 1 pm Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church (1400 W. Stadium Blvd., Ann Arbor) with visitation beginning at noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association . Envelopes are available at the funeral home where family will receive friends 5-8 pm Friday, July 29, 2022 (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti).
