Richard J. Walsh, aka Richie, 55, of Ypsilanti Michigan went home to be in the safety of the Lord's embrace on August 4, 2023. Richie was born on December 14, 1967 in Brooklyn, New York to James and Louise. He lived in in Brooklyn until he was about 12 years old when he moved out to Long Island. After graduating from High School in 1985 he went off to serve in the United States Navy. He enjoyed this very much and spoke about his travels around the world often. His famous saying was, "It was my honor to serve."

After returning from the service, he became a car mechanic and worked a few different places until he was hurt and was no longer able to work and had to retire. Before retiring he met his wife Christine online of all places. They married on September 1, 2007 and joined their families together as one. Richie had many hobbies which were playing pool, video games, fixing cars and spending as much time with his family as he possibly could. He was such a loving and giving man that he was always helping someone out. Whether it was plowing someone's driveway, putting something together for a friend, taking down a beehive or just fixing something; he was always helping out someone in need.

Richie is survived by: Christine Walsh (wife), John Walsh (son), Joseph A. Tufano (step-son), Louise Sedekersky (mother), Katherine Henerickson (sister), Lucille Panzer (sister), Marie Walsh (sister), Brother-in-Laws; Eric Henerickson, John Panzer, Robert Moscato, and Frederick Scadin II; Parent-in Laws; Duncan and Elizabeth McArthur and Frederick and Patricia Scadin; Nieces; Tabitha, Ali, Samantha, Ashley, Carmella, Rachel and Brianna; Nephews; Timothy, Thomas, Sean, Kai; Great-Nieces; Hailey, Keeley, Mackenzie, Ali, Victoria, and Emma; Great-Nephews; Timothy, Thomas, and Grayson.

Richie was preceded in death by Mellissa (daughter), Susan (first wife) and James (father) whom we all know will greet at the golden gates of heaven and we can all take some solace in this knowledge.
