At the age of 96, Richard Arnold Meyers departed this life and entered into his final rest on October 10, 2024. Richard served in the US Air Force from 1950 to 1954 as a radar operator, and afterward attended Eastern Michigan University, earning his bachelor's degree in finance and accounting in 1959.

Richard was an active, longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church of Ypsilanti, frequently volunteering as youth Sunday School teacher, AWANA Clubs leader, and various other roles throughout his lifetime. He was also a member of the local American Legion 282. He loved the outdoors, gardening, and had a masterful knack for building, fixing, and repairing all things mechanical.

Richard was employed as a Sr. Financial Analyst by the Ford Motor Company for 31 years, retiring in 1993. He was known by all as soft-spoken, intelligent, and thoughtful, with a dry wit and a persistent optimism no matter the situation.

He is survived by his wife Rose Meyers of 62 years, son Mark Meyers, and daughters Elizabeth (Shafyi) Broumand, Christina (Wayne) Helder and Angela Meyers-Purkiss (David Purkiss); as well as eight grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Friday, October 18, 2024, at 11 am at Calvary Baptist Church, 1007 Ecorse Road, Ypsilanti, MI. The visitation will be held from 10-11am. Burial will follow at Washtenong Memorial Park in Ann Arbor, MI.
