Richard "Dick" L. Briggs

Dick was born December 10, 1936 in Ann Arbor, MI and passed away January 18, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his dear wife of 66 years Heddy (Walden) Briggs, son Richard, Jr. (Jennifer) and daughter Colleen Rider (the late David), as well as 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, seven siblings, his daughter Connie Myers and grandson Jeremy Briggs. Dick was retired from Malloy Lithographing and a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Ypsilanti. He enjoyed hunting, traveling, camping, golf, wood working, racing cars in his younger years and most of all SPLITTING WOOD. Dick and Heddy raised their family in Ypsilanti retiring to Rose City in 2002. They returned to the Belleville area in 2020. The Briggs family will receive friends at Calvary Baptist Church (1007 Ecorse Rd., Ypsilanti MI) on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 11 am until 1 pm. A memorial service will be held beginning at 1 pm.
