Almond, Rhonda Carol

Westland, MI

Age 62, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 4, 2023. She was born September 4, 1960 in Pikeville, KY, the daughter of Carl and MaryAnn (Tackett) Johnson.

Rhonda enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting and camping. She liked shopping and being out with family and friends. Rhonda was a lover of all animals and adored having her dogs by her side. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

She worked in medical billing at the VA Hospital and University of Michigan for many years. Rhonda married Eugene Almond September 1, 1984, and he survives.

In addition to her loving husband of 38 years, Rhonda is survived by her son Bryan Almond, brother Richard (Debbie) Johnson, brother Rodney (Michelle) Johnson, sister-in-law Addie (Steve), brother-in-law Mike (Cheryl) Almond, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Carl Johnson, mother MaryAnn Johnson, brother Randy Johnson, sister-in-law Candice Johnson, father-in-law Mike Almond and mother-in-law Liz Almond.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Monday, January 9, 2023 at Stark Funeral Professionals with visitation beginning at 10 am. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 4-8 pm Sunday, January 8, 2023. Rhonda will be laid to rest at Washtenong Memorial Park in Ann Arbor.
