Rebecca Jean Petraska, age 34, went home to be with the Lord on November 15, 2025, at Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital. She was born April 10, 1991, in Nashville, TN, the daughter of Larry and April (Coger) Petraska.

Rebecca lived her life with a joyful spirit that touched everyone around her. She was always happy, known for her big hugs, bright smile, and the way she could lift any room. A natural entertainer, she loved singing and dancing—especially to Michael Jackson—and had a gift for sharing Bible stories with enthusiasm and heart. Music was woven into everything she did.

She adored being an aunt, cherished holding babies, and delighted in the simple joys of life. Rebecca was a devoted "momma's girl," a lover of animals—especially her beloved cat, Fluffy—and an enthusiastic fan of Frozen . She proudly served as a Salvation Army bell ringer for 17 years, greeting the community with kindness, laughter, and a cheerful spirit that made her unforgettable.

Rebecca is survived by her parents, Larry and April; her siblings Wesley Shelly, Cindy Kmphuis, Wendy Spears, and Curtis Shelly; many nieces and nephews; four great-nieces and great-nephews; numerous aunts and uncles; and her loving church family; as well as her cherished cat, Fluffy.

She was preceded in death by her biological mother, Toy Petraska.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Ypsilanti Missionary Baptist Church (7180 S. Huron River Drive, Ypsilanti) with Pastor Joe Kennedy officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 am.
