Duede, Ralph Eugene

Jackson, MI (Formerly of Ypsilanti, MI)

Age 94, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home in Jackson, MI. He was born May 21, 1930 in Detroit, MI, the son of Roy and Margaret (Hess) Duede. He married Crystal Ballard December 21, 1963 and she preceded him in death July 1, 2008.

Ralph proudly served in the U.S Army during the Korean War. He later worked as a manager at Kroger grocery store for over 40 years. He was involved with many singing groups over the years, including several at the Ypsilanti Senior Center. He loved golfing, watching the Detroit Tigers, and taking care of his beautiful gardens. Above all, he treasured time spent with family and friends.

Ralph is survived by his brother Harold Duede, sisters Martha Schneider and Deborah (Paul) Taube; sister-in-law Patricia Duede, close family friend Crystal Brown, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his loving wife of 44 years, he was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Faith Duede, brothers Raymond (Nancy) Duede and John Duede; sister Shirley (Glen) Tomford, sister-in-law Bertha Duede, and brother-in-law Richard Schneider.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Monday, April 14, 2025 at Stark Funeral Professionals with visitation beginning at 10 am (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti). Pastor John White will officiate. Ralph will be laid to rest in Union-Udell Cemetery, Ypsilanti.
