Priscilla E. Hargis, age 76, went home to be with the Lord on May 5, 2026, at Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital. She was born on November 22, 1949, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, to Elgin and Amer Lee (Gumble) Norwood.

Priscilla devoted more than 33 years to education as a teacher with Willow Run Schools, concluding her career at Henry Ford Elementary before retiring. She took great pride in teaching and the relationships she built with students and coworkers throughout her career. She earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees from Eastern Michigan University.

Priscilla enjoyed staying active and creative. She loved traveling, Zumba, walking, swimming, workout classes, dance, writing and drawing. In her free time, she enjoyed drama TV shows, theater performances, movies, shopping – in person and online, and taking road trips with her husband. Most of all, she treasured talking with family and spending time with her children and granddaughter.

She is survived by her loving husband, Samuel Hargis Jr.; daughter, Marquina Hargis; son, Samuel Hargis III; granddaughter, Sophia Hargis; brother, Elgin (Pauline) Norwood Jr.; sister, Romona (James) Lovelace; sister-in-law, Pam Norwood; aunts, Beatrice Fernandis, Freddy Norwood and Betty Chaney; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elgin Norwood Sr. and Amer Lee Norwood; and brothers, Anthony Norwood and Allan Norwood.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at NorthRidge Church with family hour beginning at 10 am. The family will receive friends 4-7 pm Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Stark Funeral Professionals.
