Patsy Kay Tenpenny, age 81, passed away peacefully at her home in Ypsilanti, Michigan, on May 11, 2026. She was born January 10, 1945 in Ypsilanti to Roy and Maybelle (Dockery) Hudgens.

Patsy enjoyed the simple things in life, especially watching television and working crossword puzzles. She was known as a truly good person who was always there when someone needed her. Her kindness, generosity, and steady presence made her a blessing to everyone fortunate enough to know her, and her family considered her a God-send in their lives.

She is survived by her siblings, James Hudgens of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Mary Stokes of Ypsilanti, Tom Hudgens of Pinckney, Michigan, and Sue Sobbry of Dexter, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Shawn Tenpenny; her sisters, Doris Beckley and Pam Hudgens; and her parents.

A funeral service will be held 1 pm Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Stark Funeral Professionals with Pastor John White officiating. Visitation will begin at 11 am. Patsy will be laid to rest in Washtenong Memorial Park, Ann Arbor Township.
