Patricia "Sandy" Cassandra Bailey, age 62, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024. She was born on July 11, 1962 in Detroit, Michigan to Ann and Clinton Bailey, Jr.

At the age of 15, Patricia suffered a brain tumor on her optic nerve. Although the surgical procedure to remove the tumor caused the total loss of her vision, she demonstrated resilience, courage and fortitude for the remainder of her life.

After recovering from surgery, she learned braille, returned to high school and graduated as the salutatorian for her graduating class. After high school, Patricia obtained employment with the State of Michigan and became a member of The American Blind Bowlers Association, and traveled around the United States for bowling competitions.

She was also employed by Midwest Enterprises for the Blind, where she worked manufacturing various office supplies. Additionally, Patricia was involved with the Michigan Foundation for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents Ann and Clinton Bailey, Jr. and her sister Gwendolyn Bradford.

She is survived by her five brothers, Hiawatha Bailey, Kenneth Bailey, Michael Bailey, Christopher (Sarita) Bailey and Carl Bailey; two sisters, Vanessa (Daniel) Hamilton and Tonya Bailey; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
