Nema Gail Coffey, age 82, peacefully went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 20, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born December 16, 1939, in New Tazwell, TN, the daughter of Lennon and Elenore (Davis) Bundon. She was a faithful member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Ypsilanti, MI.

Nema married her high school sweetheart, James Richard "Dick" Coffey, August 29, 1957, at a general store in Lone Mountain, TN. Their relationship was a life-long love story that was a testimony of God's grace, and left a legacy of commitment and loyalty for those who knew them. She worked for Hydra-matic/General Motors for 21 years before retiring in 1999 (her grandchildren would tease her that she smelled like a skunk when she came home after work). She was a loving mother and grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family. She demonstrated her love in a million ways that often went unnoticed, but paid amazing attention to the details she knew mattered to those she loved. From making sure her daughters had their first prom dresses, to knowing which grandchild she could shop for and who preferred to pick out their own clothes, to making sure each family member got the birthday or Christmas gift they wanted, she was there to show her love and care. Nema loved to travel, and took trips with her husband, mother and sisters, her children and grandchildren, and would often talk about the memories of those special vacations.

Nema is survived by her children, Terri (Allen) Miracle, Michael (Trina) Coffey, Rodney (Ronelle) Coffey and Tracy McClain; her grandchildren Hannah Miracle, Rachel (Ethan) Vincent, Seth (Meaghan) Miracle, Caleb (Stephanie) Miracle, Julia (Daniel) White, Bethany White, Luke (Kate) Miracle, Ethan (Shalyce) Miracle, Jacob (Liz) Miracle, Leah (Micah) Hitt, Marah (Jake) Coxon, Chloe (Anthony) Wright, Kaitlin (Eric) Wise Roberson, Kristin Coffey, Dusten Coffey, Branden (Josephine) Coffey, Tanner Sweeney, and Trey Sweeney; step-granddaughters Emily Talaga and Ashley Talaga; 36 very loved great-grandchildren; and siblings, Lincoln (Natalie) Bundon, Bill (Chris) Bundon, Rick Bundon, and Dixie (Mike) Kingsbury.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings Lenore (Buster) Walker, Georgeann (Joe) Ford, Mary Rose (Bill) Hurst, Rena Roberts, and Jane (Ted) Von Voightlander.

A funeral service will be held 11 am (in state 10 am) Friday, September 23, 2022 at First Free Will Baptist Church (1244 Holmes Road, Ypsilanti). The family will receive friends 4-8 pm Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Stark Funeral Professionals (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti). Nema will be laid to rest at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton Township.
