Brown, Minnie Lee

Ann Arbor, Michigan

Age 72, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at her home. She was born April 5, 1952 in Florence, AL, the daughter of John D. and Ida (Turner) Brown. Minnie moved to Ann Arbor, MI in 1973.

Minnie gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a member of Bethel Lauderdale Missionary Baptist Church in Florence and later joined New Hope Baptist Church in Ann Arbor. Minnie enjoyed talking about the Lord and loved spending time with her family. She also had a passion for cooking. She experienced a successful 30-year career working in material services at University of Michigan Hospital prior to her retirement in 2013.

Minnie is survived by her children Eric (Mesha) Brown of Ypsilanti, Anessa Wright of Ann Arbor, Tina Brown of Ann Arbor, Walter (Casandra) Brown of Ann Arbor, Demond (Natalie) Brown of Ypsilanti, Tomicka Brown of Ann Arbor, and Chase Brown of Ann Arbor; siblings Maxine Hollingsworth of Kenosha, WI, Landros Brown of Hainesville, IL, and Larry Brown of Florence, AL; 21 grandkids, three great-grandkids, and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents John D. and Ida Brown; siblings Sarah Armstead, Ella Stewart, Richard Peters, John Lewis Brown, Jesse Ray Brown, Roger Dale Brown and Dwight Brown; and grandchild Cameron Brown.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, March 14, 2025 at Stark Funeral Professionals with Pastor Farai Nhiwatiwa will officiate (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti). Family hour to begin at 10 am. Minnie will be laid to rest in Sunset Hills, Cemetery, Superior Township.
