Millicent Cox
September 21,1943 - October 28, 2025

It is with deep and heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Millicent Cox (Butt), beloved mother, sister, and aunt. She died peacefully at home, in Ypsilanti, Michigan on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 82 years of age.

Millicent was born in Bonavista, Newfoundland (Canada). She moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1964 to live with her sister Alma. It was here that she met Stephen Cox, who would become her husband.

Millicent will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit, which touched everyone who had the blessing of knowing her. Her unwavering love and devotion to her family were at the heart of everything she did, and her presence brought warmth, comfort, and grace to all. A deeply devoted Christian, Millicent lived her faith through acts of compassion, humility, and steadfast love. Her legacy of kindness and faith will continue to shine in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

She will be deeply missed, with fond and loving memories, by her son Andrew, siblings Hughie Butt, Fannie Branton, and Shirley Butt, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Stephen, parents George and Clara (Abbott) Butt, brother Jim Butt and sister Alma (Butt) Fox.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Stark Funeral Professionals (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti). Visitation will begin at 11 am. Interment will take place at Highland Cemetery immediately following the service.
