Towler Sr., Michael Edward

Age 74, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Superior Township, MI. He was born November 13, 1947 in Ypsilanti, MI, the son of Edwin and Margaret (Shafer) Towler.

Michael was a family man who loved fishing, woodworking and working in his garage. He was a 28-year member of the South Side Baptist Tabernacle in Ypsilanti, where he served as a Deacon.

Michael married Sandra "Sandy" Richards on March 19, 1966 in Ypsilanti, and she survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Michael Jr., Scott (Tanya), Ronnie (Michele) and Julie (Keith); eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, siblings Linda (John) and Edwin; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.

A funeral service will be held 12 noon Thursday, December 9, 2021 at South Side Baptist Tabernacle: 6710 Textile Road, Ypsilanti. Pastor Chris Wass will officiate. The family will receive friends 10 am-12 noon at the church prior to the service. Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery in Ypsilanti. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
