King, Michael Scott

Ypsilanti, MI

Age 66, returned home to the Lord suddenly Monday, January 16, 2023 in Ann Arbor, MI.  He was born December 29, 1956 in Superior Township, MI, the first born son of Barbara (Jones) and the late Floyd King.

Mike was a lifelong resident of Ypsilanti, MI. He graduated from Ypsilanti High School in 1975. Mike was a man of many talents and passions. Well known as "High Octane Mike," he was a long time on-air contributor to Sports Talk 1050 WTKA THE TICKET, who was both knowledgeable and enthusiastic about NASCAR and University of Michigan Football. Mike loved to grill, cook, and bake. He enjoyed freshwater fishing and looked forward to the opening day of bass season every year. In recent years, he was thrilled to take part in several charter fishing trips on lake Erie with his closest friends. Anyone who had the pleasure of truly getting to know Mike would tell you he had the kindest heart and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He loved his family and friends deeply. Mike had a faith in the Lord which was unwavering.

Mike is survived by many loved ones including his children Marianne (Jason) Marsh and Austin King; mother Barbara King, grandson Levi Marsh, siblings Robert (Kathy) King and Jeffery King; mother of his children and former wife Margaret King, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Floyd King.

A memorial service will be held 3 pm Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Stark Funeral Professionals. Pastor John White will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 pm until time of service.
