Michael Dale Kermmoade, 58, died suddenly on April 30, 2024 from cardiac arrest. Even though a failing heart took him away from us, his loving heart touched the lives of all those he met. His early life experiences inspired him to champion the underdog which resulted in him becoming a foster parent and making a home for countless stray animals. Both a joy and a challenge to debate with, he enjoyed discussing religion, politics, history, and philosophy (and he was as stubborn as he was kind).  He worked for decades as a teacher and tutor to high school and college students. An avid sports fanatic, he relentlessly watched any sport on TV much to the chagrin of those that lived with him.

Michael is survived by his husband Charles and son Andrew; his sister and brother-in-law Kim and David and nephews Michael and Austin; and his grand-nephew and niece. He is preceded in death by his father Dale, mother Delcie, and brother Brad.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your preferred children's charity or your local humane society.

A memorial service will be held at Stark Funeral Professionals (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti) on Saturday, May 4, 2024. Visitation will be 1pm-3pm with a brief service at 3pm.
