Michael "Mike" A. Clayborn went home to be with the Lord on September 22, 2025 at the age of 69. Mike was born on February 21, 1956 in Ypsilanti, MI, to his parents, Robert and Mary Clayborn. He was one of four children and the only boy. His sisters are Charlean, with whom he had a very close relationship, Sharon, and Regina.

After graduating from Willow Run High School with the class of 1974, Mike went on to work in the factory for Motor Wheel. He eventually moved on to finish his working career with Iron Mountain.

In his younger years, Mike looked forward to spending days fishing. As he got older, he found it more enjoyable to be in the comfort of his home, always with MSNBC on the television. His favorite movie was The Wizard of Oz and he never missed an airing of it on the TV. He would call his siblings to make sure they knew it was on. Playing spades, dominoes and bingo with family and friends were also activities that Mike enjoyed.

Mike was a quiet and calm person with a warm heart. He loved his family and friends and was always willing to give a helping hand where he could.

Mike leaves behind to cherish his memory his son, Deon (Brianna) Foster; grandson, Gabriel Foster; father, Robert Clayborn; siblings, Charlean Adams, Sharon (Michael) Ervin, and Regina Clayborn–Maynard; nieces and nephews, Donald Adams, Andrea Reid, Erica Ervin, Branden Ervin, Jazmyne Maynard and Connie Maynard IV; great-nieces, Laquania French and D'Naya Adams; great-nephew Johnny Weatherspoon III; very dear friends, Glenda Foster, Marcia Armstead and Leon McEwen; and a host of family and friends who will miss him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Clayborn.

There will be a 1 pm funeral service on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Stark Funeral Professionals. Family hour will begin at 12 pm. Guests are encouraged to wear casual attire. Mike always wanted people to be comfortable.
