Stapleton, Matthew Scott

Age 58, passed away June 9, 2024 at Trinity Health Livonia Hospital. He was born December 26, 1965 in Ypsilanti, MI, the son of Leo Joseph and Marian Ruth (Court) Stapleton.

Matthew was compassionate, artistic, intelligent, gentle and had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved animals, especially his beloved cats. He was an avid photographer and gifted artist who specialized in studio and graphic arts. In his free time, Matthew enjoyed listening to music, archery and target shooting. He graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor's degree in graphic design and worked as a produce manager at Meijer upon his passing.

Matthew is survived by his brother Michael (Lisa) Stapleton, sisters Julie (Robert) Cieslak and Carol (Bernard) Ozbolt; nieces Jessica Cieslak, Nichole Cieslak, Mary Hope Ozbolt, Therese Ozbolt and Clare Ozbolt; and great-aunt Marion Sherburne.

He was preceded in death by his parents and great-uncle Jack Sherburne.

Matthew has been laid to rest in Highland Cemetery, Ypsilanti.
