Mays, Mary Ellen

Age 86, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025 at The Gilbert Residence. She was born November 12, 1938 in Ai, OH the daughter of Francis and Helen (Grove) Watson. She was raised in Moberly, MO, where she graduated from high school.

Mary Ellen moved to Ann Arbor, MI in 2016. She was a parishioner of First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor. She enjoyed singing and performed in several choirs throughout the years. She was previously a member of the Red Hat Society. Reading and spending time with her family were also things she really enjoyed.

Mary Ellen is survived by her son Craig (Maria) Mays of Hampton, VA; daughter Kimberly (Edward) Pavicich of Ann Arbor; grandchildren Faustyn (Katie), Allyson and Grayson Pavicich; sister Becky (Dwayne) Bond of Excello, MO; sister-in-law Carol Watson of Clyde, OH; brother-in-law Jerry Baker of Kansas City, MO; father of her children, Kenneth R. Mays of Newhall, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Wayne Watson, sisters Naomi James, Cornelia Warren and Lucille Baker; and brother-in-law Gerald Warren.

A funeral service will be held 12 pm Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Stark Funeral Professionals with visitation beginning at 11 am. Mary will be inurned at Highland Cemetery, Ypsilanti.

Contributions may be made in Mary Ellen's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
