Age 81, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Trinity Health Hospital – Ann Arbor. She was born November 7, 1943 in Wilson, AR, the daughter of Charles and Willie (Crane) Thomas.

Mary was a 1962 graduate of Willow Run High School. She was a loving wife and mother to her four children. She enjoyed baking and teaching others how to cook, especially sweets. She always said common sense sayings to help others get through life, one of her favorites being, "Give me my Roses while I'm still alive!!" She was baptized April 12, 1997 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Mary loved traveling and exploring the world; she traveled to Israel, the Western states, Bahamas and took many cruises.

Mary is survived by her children Frank (Miricle) Lewis, Manuella Lewis, Maynard (Arnetta) Lewis and Gwendolyn Larsh; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, siblings Rose Sims and James Thomas; and special friends Ladonna Bailey, Ladonna Williams and Gwendolyn McClain. She will be missed dearly by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank W. Lewis Sr., parents Charles and Willie Thomas; siblings Charles Thomas Jr., Alex Thomas, Beautybee Edwards, Barbara Jean Richardson and Minnie Austin; as well as nine nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 1 pm Monday, December 30, 2024 at Stark Funeral Professionals (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti). Family hour will begin at 11 am. Mary will be laid to rest in United Memorial Gardens, Superior Township. A memorial service will be held at Kingdom Hall at a later date. Information will be posted once confirmed.
