Martin Jay Hagerty, age 69, passed away March 19, 2026, at Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital. He was born April 18, 1956, in Inkster, Michigan, to Louis and Elizabeth (Schaeffer) Hagerty.

Martin made his home in Ypsilanti, Michigan, where he built a life centered around family, simple pleasures, and the things he loved most. He worked for TG Fluid Systems for seven years before his passing.

On December 28, 1983, he married the love of his life, Lynne (Towler) Hagerty in Wayne, Michigan. Together they shared many years of companionship and family memories.

Martin enjoyed spending time outdoors, working outside whenever he could, cooking, and baking. He also loved playing with his grandsons, watching basketball, baseball, his beloved Detroit Lions, and enjoying old western movies and shows.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lynne Hagerty; children Karli and Jared Hagerty; and grandsons, Noah Hagerty and Elliott Ward Towler. He is also survived by his brothers, John, Tim, and Michael Hagerty; sisters, Joan and Lois Lynne Hagerty; nephew, Nick Towler; nieces, Hayden and Eleanor Towler; sister-and brother-in-law, Michelle and Cliff Durfee; and many additional nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.

Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Elizabeth Hagerty; sister, Teresa Schiffer; brothers, Jerry, Kenny, and David Hagerty; mother-in-law, Sylvia Towler; father-in-law, Larry Towler; brother-in-law, Jeffrey Towler; and nephew, William (Ted) Towler.

At this time, no services are planned.

Martin was deeply loved and will be missed greatly.
