Mark Douglas Bolton Sr.

July 7, 1964 – June 23, 2025

Mark Douglas Bolton Sr. passed away on June 23, 2025, at the age of 60. He was born on July 7, 1964, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, where he spent his entire life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Kathleen Bolton.

Mark is survived by his children: Brittany Bolton, Mark (Megan) Bolton, Anthony Bolton, Marissa Bolton, and Andrew-Matthew Bolton; and by his cherished granddaughters: Lyla, Audrina,Lily, and Ellie. He is also survived by his brothers: Michael Bolton, David Bolton, Christopher (Sandra) Bolton, and John (Kelly) Bolton. as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Early in his life, Mark took great pride in his work as a welder, a trade he was deeply proud of. He later spent many years driving trucks, always working hard to provide for his family. Mark lived a life rooted in generosity and compassion—he never hesitated to help anyone who needed it.

Mark was a man of faith and was baptized in the Baptist church. He was known for his generous spirit and was always the first to offer a helping hand.

He loved spending time in his garage, surrounded by his tools, always tinkering and finding things to fix. His garage was a retreat, a place where he could clear his mind.  One of his greatest joys was visiting the family cabin, where he found peace, made memories with loved ones, and enjoyed the simple beauty of being outdoors. Above everything else, Mark took the greatest pride and joy in being a father. His children were the center of his world, and his love for them was unwavering.

Mark's legacy is one of kindness, resilience, and devotion to family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Viewing will take place 6-8 pm Monday, June 30, 2025 at Stark Funeral Professionals (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti). A funeral service will be held 11 am Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at the funeral home with visitation beginning at 10 am. Mark will be laid to rest in Forest Hills Cemetery, Ann Arbor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
