Marilyn Marie LaPan, age 61, passed away April 20, 2026, at Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital. She was born October 3, 1964, to David and Donna (Fauble) Kidder. Marilyn made her home in Ypsilanti, where she built a life centered around her family. She married Mark LaPan on May 23, 2013, and the two shared a loving partnership.

Marilyn was a woman who found joy in life's simple and meaningful moments. She loved traveling to the casino with her husband, where the two shared laughter, excitement, and countless cherished memories side by side. Her happiest days were often spent cheering from the sidelines, proudly watching her daughter and grandsons play sports, always their biggest fan. She also found peace and fulfillment in her garden, nurturing flowers and vegetables with the same care and love she gave to those around her.

She will be remembered for her warm heart, her devotion to her family, and the joy she found in being present for the people she loved most. Her presence brought comfort, her smile brought light, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Mark LaPan; daughter, Heather (Jarrod) Ing; grandsons, Benson and Parker Ing; sister, Debbie Carpenter; and brothers, Mike Kidder and David Kidder. She is also survived by her nephews, Michael Paul Kidder and Jason (Sarah) Carpenter; nieces, Alisha (Jon) Ludwig and Ashley (Eric) Kinor; along with many great-nieces and great-nephews, Jordan, Katie, Dakota, Madison, Peyton, Brecken, Grace and Wyatt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Jack LaPan Sr.; uncle, Duane Kidder; and aunt, Mary Ann (John) Cunningham.

A visitation will be held 5-7 pm Monday, April 27, 2026 at Stark Funeral Professionals (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti). Marilyn will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery.
