Louis Edward Roach, age 87, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025. He was born May 23, 1938, and was the beloved husband of Patricia Corvi Roach. Louis and Pat were married over 40 years.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Charles Roach and Versa Mae Roach, as well as his sister Evon Williams. He leaves behind his loving sisters Ethel Osler (William, dec.), Shirley Reed (Raymond), and Joyce Roach Sutton (James), along with many extended family members and friends who cherished him.

Louis proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Following his service, he built a long and dedicated career at the University of Michigan, from which he retired.

A man of many passions, Louis was known widely for his love of golf. An avid and talented golfer, he taught countless people the game he loved. So gifted was he that friends could call him from the course with a question or problem, and Louis could guide them—often to a perfect solution—right over the phone. He was also a skilled bowler and was honored with induction into the 2022 USBC Arbor Valley Bowlers Hall of Fame.  Golf and Bowling trophies lined up in their basement are too many to count!

Louis and Pat shared a deep love for sports. Together, they were loyal University of Michigan fans and held season tickets for both football and basketball. When not cheering in the stands, they could always be found watching the games together at home.

Louis was a true gentleman—friendly, outgoing, and respected by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. His warmth, humor, and gracious spirit made people feel welcome, and he was well known throughout the community for his kindness and integrity.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to share in his life.

Visitation will be held 3-5 pm Friday, December 12, 2025 at Stark Funeral Professionals (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti). Entombment will take place at Washtenong Memorial Park, Ann Arbor Township.
