Age 68, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022 in Detroit, MI. He was born April 1, 1954 in Santurce, Puerto Rico, the son of Angelo and Carmen (Velez) Cabrera.

Louis was an accomplished residential painter and a jack of all trades. He loved animals - taking in stray cats at every opportunity. He enjoyed helping people. Louis had a big heart for the disadvantaged and was very generous.

Louis is survived by his siblings Nina (Norberto) Rodriguez and George Cabrera; nephews Norbert (Rachel) and David (Kristy) Rodriguez; great-nieces and nephews Alexander, Solomon, Isabella, Isiah, Gabrielle, Maya, Emmanuel and Levi.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Tony Cabrera.

The family has chosen simple cremation. No services are planned at this time.
