Harris, Lora "Jane"

Brooklyn, MI (Formerly of Ypsilanti, MI and Prestonsburg, KY)

Age 78, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022 in Jackson, MI. She was born April 5, 1944 in Prestonsburg, KY, the daughter of John and Shirley (Childers) Garrett.

Jane enjoyed shopping, flowers and feeding the birds, especially orioles and hummingbirds. Over the years, she attended many car shows with her husband Larry. Above all, Jane most loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her smile and infectious laughter.

Jane is survived by her children Terry (Dwight) Morningstar, Marla (Joe) Scanlon and Kimberly (Tracy) Harris; grandchildren Kristen Jordan, Sara Spicer, Lora Morningstar and Corey Scanlon; great-grandchildren Samuel Jordan, Bennett Spicer, Aubree Correa, Evelyn Spicer and Gabriel Jordan; brother Vernon Garrett Sr., and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her twin sister Virginia Watts.

A funeral service will be held 1 pm Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Stark Funeral Professionals where the family will greet friends 11 am until time of service. Jane will be laid to rest at Knollwood Memorial Gardens in Canton Township, MI.
