~ Linda Lou Tackett ~

Age 86, of Ypsilanti, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 28, 2025 surrounded by her loving daughters and devoted partner after a heartfelt prayer.

Linda was born in Lynnville, Kentucky, and spent her life in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She shared fifty wonderful years with her beloved late husband, Faminouse "Sam" Tackett, raising their six daughters and creating a home filled with love and laughter. A longtime member of Trinity Free Will Baptist Church, Linda cherished her church family and friends deeply.

She lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment with her daughters and radiating warmth and kindness to everyone she met. She treasured being involved in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating lasting memories with each of them. Linda also loved gardening, bird watching, and shopping—hobbies that brought her happiness over the years.

Linda is survived by her loving partner of several years, Charlie Barnhart; daughters Anita Gail (Ken Sr.) Burnett, Kathi (Daniel) Rickelmann, Sondra Tackett, Kimberly Tackett, and Lisa Alent; sisters Shirley (Robert) Roberts and Betty Larson; grandchildren Missy Rickelmann, Mike (Kris) Rickelmann, Chavonne (David) Abraham, Kenny Burnett Jr., and Haley Alent; and great-grandchildren Trent and Myah Gabriel, Aiden and Ava Abraham, Ryder Burnett, and Wyatt Rickelmann.

She was preceded in death by her parents Nannie Ivie Church and Ollie McBee; Nannie's husband, Jesse "JP" Church; brothers Charles Bell, Earl McBee, and Mickey Church; her daughter Debbie Tackett; grandson Larry Michael Tackett; and son-in-law Eric Alent.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Trinity Free Will Baptist Church, beginning at 11 am. Visitation will begin at 10 am.
